The Magical Healing Powers of Paddington Bear

One of the Signs of Spring had a horrible urine infection last Friday evening. She was sick, had a temperature and generally felt uncomfortable and horrible. She wouldn't even eat the Lasagne I had made for her tea - she was seriously unwell.

She woke up in the middle of the night feeling bad enough for me to ring the out of hours doctor service at 2.30am. I was expecting a trip to a grimy doctors surgery with a feverish 9 year old dressed in a duvet and clutching her cuddly monkey. But that was reckoning without the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear.

I feared that she was going to have to miss out on our trip to the Olympic Park - and even worse so would I! Thank goodness for the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear.

In 1982, Benjamin Hoff wrote "The Tao of Pooh" in order to infuse that fluffy headed bear with an element of Eastern Mysticism. He would have done much better to focus on the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear.

I first noticed this phenomenon when my lovely wife was struggling to sleep during a particularly stressful time at work. She tossed and turned before turning on the light, shaking me and telling me that she was awake.

It's so much friendlier with 2 and much easier to sleep with the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear.

Ever since, when one of our children is struggling to sleep because they are harbouring the latest nasty to come out of their peer group's germ pool, I have always turned to the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear.

The wonderful thing about the magical healing powers of Paddington Bear is they are completely free to anybody with a book of Paddington Bear stories. They are easy and painless to apply and they work every time. All you need is a bit of time to sit down and read to the patient and pretty soon they'll be smiling to themselves and forgetting all about their infection/ sleepless night/ stressful situation at work. You will enjoy them too.

Here's a little treat to get you in the mood - the first episode from the wonderful 1970s BBC series of Paddington Bear stories - has there ever been a cuter animation?

Do you have a secret remedy that you would like to share? A panacea that heals all known ills?
